Kuwait University Establishment

Kuwait University was founded in October 1966, as amended by Decree Law No. 29 of 1966 At the time of its establishment in 1966, Kuwait University had four colleges

College of Science
College of Arts
College of Education
College for Women

In April 1967, by Amiri Decree, the following colleges were founded:

College of Law
College of Islamic Studies
College of Business
College of Political Science

In august 1995, by Amiri Decree, the College of Business Administration is established in Kuwait University and the College of Business is annulled
In October 1971, by Amiri Decree, The College of Science is separated from the Colleges of Arts and Education
In July 1973, by Amiri Decree, the College of Medicine is established
In December 1974, by Amiri Decree, the College of Engineering and Petroleum is established
In 1977, by Amiri Decree, the College of Graduate Studies is established
In May 1980 , by Amiri decree, the College of Education is separated from the College of Arts
On 17/05/1980, by Amiri Decree, the college of Education is founded
In 1996, by Amiri Decree, the College of Science is established
In October 1981, by Amiri Decree, the College of Islamic Studies and Sharia is established aside from the College of Law and Sharia studies
On 13/01/1982 the minister of Education and Head of Kuwait University establishes the Health Science Center
On 22/06/1982 , by Amiri Decree, the College of Allied Health Sciences and Nursing is founded. The latter is also separated from the College of Medicine. And in 16/05/2004, by Amiri Decree Law No.150 of 2004 the name is changed to College of Allied Health Sciences.
On 03/02/1996 , by Amiri Decree Law No. 28 of 1996, the College of Pharmacy is founded
On 28/05/1996 , by Amiri Decree Law No. 105 of 1996, the College of Dentistry is founded
College of Architecture was established upon an Amiri Decree No. (390), issued on October 19th, 2010
College of Computing Sciences and Engineering was established upon an Amiri Decree No. (130) issued on April 11th, 2011v
Public Health College at Health Sciences Center was established upon an Amiri Decree No. (307) issued on November 20th, 2013
An Amiri Decree No. (308) was issued to amend the name of (College for Women) at KU to become (College of Life Sciences) on November 20th, 2013
